For this performance, I utilized Tony Labat’s role as an educator/teacher/professor and asked him to teach me how to make art, as exemplified by John Baldessari’s I Am Making Art (1971). I offered the class apples and gummy worms to eat while they watched Tony instruct me in matching my body to a video projection of John Baldessari’s video performance. I also asked a volunteer to be the student assistant and to transcribe Tony’s instructions, as to help the students with a quiz I gave them at the end of the demonstration.
